Early Career Construction/Engineering Professional
Job Summary:
Engineering/construction professional responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of technical projects. They assist senior engineers and project managers with design tasks, documentation, quality checks, scheduling, and field or production support. This role focuses on developing foundational project engineering/construction skills, improving technical competency, and gaining exposure to cross-functional project work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and technical documentation
- Perform basic productivity/schedule analyses, calculations, and identify design issues or package discrepancies under supervision
- Participate in project status meetings and prepare progress updates or technical reports
- Conduct field inspections, data collection, and troubleshooting with guidance from lead team members
- Maintain project records, logs, action items, and compliance documentation
- Support quality assurance tasks such as reviewing drawings, specifications, and supplier deliverables for accuracy
- Coordinate with vendors to gather technical information, quotes, and submittals.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities related to project workflows.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s):
Technical & Project Performance:
- RFI Turnaround Time: Speed and completeness of technical issue resolution.
- Submittal Accuracy & Approval Rates: Number of resubmittals required.
- Issue Resolution Efficiency: Time to identify, escalate, and help resolve technical or site issues.
- Change Assessment: Supports assessing drawing/package revisions for changes and communication to project team members
- Project Documentation: Completeness and clarity of reports, logs, and project records
Scheduling & Productivity:
- Work Package On-Time Delivery: Ability to meet schedule milestones.
- Look-Ahead Planning Effectiveness: Assist in forecasting material and manpower needs.
- Labor Productivity Support: Accuracy of takeoffs and coordination impacting labor efficiency.
Cost Control:
- Accuracy in Material Takeoffs: Variance between estimated and actual quantities.
- Change Order Support Accuracy: Quality of cost impacts provided to PM. Budget Adherence: Contribution to staying within electrical scope cost targets.
Safety & Compliance:
- Field Safety Observations Completed
- Correct Code/Standard Application
- Compliance Issues Identified vs. Missed
